Academics
The academic program at North Pocono Middle School consists of five core subjects (English, math, reading, science, and social studies) and eight special subjects (art, computer literacy, family consumer science, health, library, music, physical education, and world language). Learning support services are also provided for students who qualify.
Students and teachers are arranged into academic teams throughout their experience at the middle school, with two distinct teams at each grade level. Each core subject teacher sees the same students as the other core subject teachers on the team. This research-tested approach ensures that students are well-known and well-supported by their teachers, with the teachers working in concert to help students learn and grow.
In this section of our website, you can find broad descriptions of the instruction being offered in the core subjects and special subjects. Descriptions are not meant to be comprehensive, but are rather presented to give parents a general portrait of the scope of courses at North Pocono Middle School. Since educational change is inevitable, the administration and staff regard the constant study and improvement of curriculum be a priority. In addition, you can find an overview of learning support services available in the middle school. Finally, you can find team websites for each of our academic teams.
